Help at Home was founded in August of 2001 by Terri Rabkin, MSW. Terri took 25 years of experience in the home health care field and developed a one-of-a kind agency that always puts the clients’ needs first. “My philosophy has always been and always will be very hands-on,” Terri says.
More often than not you'll be speaking directly to Terri. Whether you speak with Terri or any of our highly trained team members, you can rest assured they don’t just jot down your information on a pre-set form. They always dig a little deeper, taking whatever time is needed to find out exactly what kind of care you or your loved one may need. It might be a concerned son or daughter calling from across town or across the country. “I have been known to spend an hour or two on the phone delving into past history, current issues, medical information, support systems and living arrangements”. This passion to truly understand all the pieces of the puzzle is what helps us to be able to provide the best possible service. And it doesn’t stop there. We continue to be involved and offer a high level of ongoing care coordination.
Help at Home is a small business with an atmosphere of earned trust, caring and professionalism that makes us like extended family. Our staff is carefully comprised of highly experienced Certified Nursing Assistants, Geriatric Nursing Assistants, Home Health Aides, and Licensed Practical Nurses. We thoroughly screen every applicant before we hire them, conduct exhaustive background checks, and speak with several references. We don’t just work from a roster of unknown names. Our high standards for selection lead us to hire and maintain the “cream of the crop” in the industry. We maintain a close relationship with our staff over the years and appreciate their personal and professional qualities. With this in-depth familiarity, we can match the needs of the client with the strengths of the caregiver. This gives us the advantage that allows Help At Home to provide the best possible care.

Once families start using Help At Home’s services, whether it’s short-term or long-term care, they always come back. And they tell their friends. Indeed, Help at Home’s success has largely stemmed from word of mouth referrals – a tradition that will continue for years to come.
